State of Europe Forum

State of Europe Forum

Athens, 8 – 9th May

Harry Bryans – The forum began on Thursday evening in the stately Old Parliament Building, continuing the next morning with a bible study on Mars Hill, (photo) looking at the contemporary relevance of Paul’s message as in Acts 17, led by Dr George Adam. From there we returned to the Electra Palace Hotel for a day of reflection on five themes: solidarity, migration, democracy, economics and religious liberty.  For the first time there was also a Youth Forum which began before and finished after the main Forum. It was particularly encouraging and stimulating to engage with younger Christians grappling with issues in society who have a vision to contribute to seeing God’s Kingdom become an increasing and visible reality in Europe. Resources from this will soon be online at www.stateofeuropeforum.eu/2014-athens/
