Getting connected for the 4th Mission-Net Congress!
Alex (24) – National Motivator for Spain after participating at the NM-Weekend in March: It was wonderful to have shared with you this weekend so inspiring. Personally, you’ve made me feel part of this family, so I can only say thank you. Moreover I realized how much that unites us as people. All so different, cultures and so many ways to learn about God, but with the same heart for his mission, that’s great!…. It’s time You get some background-info besides the attached Press release. A wonderful bunch of people all over Europe – and especially in Hamburg – is committed to motivate Youth to live a missional lifestyle and to take advantage of the coming congress to get inspired, challenged and encouraged. And getting    connected with many likeminded Youth and with Jesus in the first place! Thank you! We are very encouraged by your interest, support, prayer. Mission-Net is increasingly becoming a Movement –  not only among young Christians, but also among Leaders realising the potential of a European network with a kingdom-vision. Organisations are approaching Mission-Net with the desire to be part of it. Nevertheless it is a challenge to organise a multicultural, Europe-wide congress with Volunteers mainly. Everything is moving fast! We are thankful for some “stable” executive-people and also organisations ready to invest through personnel or / and finances. We want to thank Liebenzell Mission to release their Finance Executive Bettina Heckh part time to serve Mission-Net as the new Finance Director. EEA is giving its secretary Hester Zoutman space to work with the programme team. National EMA’s / EA’s are investing in motivators – not to forget the innumerable volunteers who invest hours, days, weeks without getting any (financial J) pay back. To maintain a certain stability we HAVE TO mandate or employ a few professionals. At the same time the legal requirements on different levels were rising with the development of Mission-Net. This – and the fact we want to allow also participants from Southern and Eastern Europe a reasonable price – our budget for the next congress is showing the need for €270’000 on donations. This is a huge figure we accepted as challenge of faith – and also to work hard and faithfully with fundraising. Investing in a new generation of followers of Jesus is worth this risk! Thank you for helping us to also reach this goal – in being                        with our rich Father and people on earth with a visionary and generous heart. My last letter to you! With our next Board Meeting and General Assembly on June 9th I will step back as Chairman of Mission-Net. 11 years ago Thomas Bucher and I started discussions with EEMA and EEA how we could renew the mandate of a Europe wide network to motivate, mobilise and train young Europeans for Missions. Thomas Bucher, now General Secretary of the EEA, will remain member of the Mission-Net governing Board for the time being. But for me time has come to give my mandate into other hands. I am very happy Connie Main Duarte from Portugal, since 2011 member of the Board, will take over, assisted by Guido Braschi from England. For more personal details see Board members. Mission-Net truly has shaped my last 10 years – such a privilege to work with young, committed, brave and Jesus-loving people! I tell you: There is hope for Europe! For ALL involved in Mission-Net I wish the deep assurance of the presence of the Lord – it’s his heart which is longing also for our old continent, doing great things. Keep connected with HIM! May Mission-Net remain and grow more being a catalyst for HIS love – HIS mission in the world. God bless you!
