EEA Newsletter October 2015 – General Assembly
In this newsletter:   Dear friends Thomas_3Last week’s EEA General Assembly was really great. Who would have thought that the theme From Exclusion to Inclusion, which was set last November, would be such a timely subject? I hope you read the report about the EEA GA 2015 already. Otherwise you can find it here. You will realise how fitting our theme was and how it has taken us forward in our task. Participants got as a present a wooden 3 D Puzzle as a symbol that each part is needed to form something beautiful and that it is not always easy to do so. It was also a reminder that often we have all the parts (sometimes not) but do not see how they fit. I am sure that the ones who tried to put it together had some fun and struggles and maybe remained puzzled about it. However, the Master Puzzle Maker has apparently no problems putting things together. He has surprised us once more. The speakers, the various contributions of EEA members and staff fit together really well. As a result of getting the parts of the puzzle in place we have come up with a Call to Action which you find here. We pray and hope that this will help to encourage churches, organisations and individuals to move forward in unity and with confidence responding together to the refugee crisis. I have never seen such unity at a General Assembly to tackle an enormous task set before us. I think that this refugee crisis is an unprecedented opportunity for us to show God’s love in action. And as we act and connect we will get plenty of opportunities to explain what our motivation is. As we move forward together we will see new parts added to the puzzle as they are needed. They will not be laid into our hands just like that. They will be given to us as we are engaging and need to be equipped. And we will continually be surprised by the One who knows all the parts and all the solutions to 3 D puzzles and probably also to 4 D and 5 D puzzles. He is not puzzled and he will not leave us puzzled. Let’s trust Him as we engage with the parts given to us. Yours for the EEA, thomas signature       Thomas Bucher In this newsletter:
