This call to prayer coincides with the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan and highlights Muslim peoples across  the planet. World-wide, Muslims live in difficult social, economic and political situations. Often they don’t have education, health or even clean water resources, things that we often take for granted. Unfortunately they also don’t have the freedom of religion nor the opportunity to even hear about the Good News of Christ. For that reason, Christians are called to pray for many aspects of a Muslim’s life and especially for the unreached and unengaged people groups across the Muslim world. Praying together unites Christians, helps them overcome fears of Muslim peoples and encourages faith, hope and love toward the unreached.

The 30-Day call to praying for Muslims originated during a meeting of Christian leaders in the Middle East in 1992. The resulting prayer movement was planned to coincide with the important Islamic month of Ramadan for at least two reasons: (1) as a means for Christians to identify themselves with Muslims during a fixed period of the year and (2) to call upon God’s sovereign intervention in the lives of Muslims during a time of the year when they are acutely religious.

Please contact your local Evangelical Alliance office for copies of the prayer booklet. Links to other languages is also available on the website along with promotional material and the articles posted daily during Ramadan.
