Short Introduction

Nxt Move Europe is a community of transformational relationships. Seeking to see Christianity accelerated in the next generation [youth & young adults] for increased local fruitfulness. Nxt Move Europe is connected to the Nxt Move Global community. We have the privilege of serving and facilitating the Youth & Young Adults Network for the EEA.

Why now?!

Over the past decades, indications pointed to a sharp decline in engagement with Christianity among younger generations. A trend that has unfortunately been accelerated by things like a global pandemic, wars and financial crisis’s. That’s why we are saying: Not on our watch! But now we are seeing an up tick in Christianity across Europe in the younger generations. So how together as the Evangelical Alliances in Europe, can we see Christianity accelerated in the next generation.

The Need

• 38% of Millennials are leaving the Church and they’re not going back. (One Hope Global Youth Culture)
• 52% of teens globally say they never read religious scripture on their own. (One Hope Global Youth Culture)
• Only 11% of young people are committed to follow Jesus in Europe, but only 5% are really following Jesus in their day to day life. (Open Generation)

The Opportunity 

• 52% of the globe is under the age of 30. (One Hope Global Youth Culture)
• 80% of Christians made the decision to follow Jesus before the age of 18. (One Hope Global Youth Culture)
• 60% of 18-24’s know a Christian. (Talking Jesus 2022)
• 38% of 18-24’s said the Bible was the top influence in them coming to faith. This was 15% in 2016. (Talking Jesus 2022)

Are we ready for what God is about to birth?

How do we go about this?

The Nxt Move Europe is a community of transformational relationships that seeks to gather, connect, and accelerate the next generation of leaders through;

• Community for national EA Youth Network leaders and other evangelical leaders of national next generation ministries.
• Catalytic Gatherings bringing like minded European leaders of leaders together to; encounter God together, to build relationships, facilitating strategic conversations, share best practices to innovate towards tangible change and local fruitfulness.
• Collaboration we do not want to duplicate everything around Europe, but rather see collaborative multiplication through supporting each other things already happening.
• Consulting with other EEA networks to help them have a future and next generation focus.

Our goal is to increase local fruitfulness for all ministries involved

Key Activities

• European Youth Ministry Network [EYMN]: we seek to advance Christ-centred youth ministry in Europe together through; youth ministry leader gatherings, encouragement tours, resourcing and communications.
• Gospel Advancing Movement Europe: The Gospel Advancing youth ministry strategy involves relentlessly pursuing the mission of Jesus by relationally multiplying disciples resulting in radical Gospel transformation.
• NOW [Not on Our Watch] Conversations: The NOW Conversations are aimed at collaborating and learning from each other in order to accelerate Christianity in the next generation by discussing what each region can bring to the table and what they desire to learn from the rest of the world. Looking at reality, dreaming and actioning together!
• Collaborative tables of leaders from across Europe journeying together in areas of specialism; Digital Influencers, Bible engagement, raising young business leaders, faith in action, leadership cultivation and more. All with the journey landing in collaborative action in grassroots and local church contexts.

The Next Gen Ministry Review is here! There are so many insights of what God is up, the fruit being seen, challenges being recognised and sensing together what is birthing in the next generation in Europe.

We are so thankful to every leader and leadership team who took part. Our heart in this journey of doing this review was to listen, sense and dream together with key grassroots leaders and their teams across the continent. We believe we are entering an exciting but challenging new paradigm of Next Gen ministry and mission. To be relevant and fruitful, we’re going to need to be prayerful and faith filled. That’s why we felt that for this coming season we needed to start by listening collaboratively to sense where God is leading together.

We believe this Next Gen Ministry Review is a useful asset for leaders at every level…

• Grassroots/ Local Leaders: helping them to listen, sense and strategize in this next season how they develop their local ministry.
• National Leaders: hear continental andgrassroots voices, taking encouragement in the challenges and propulsion in the areas of fruit that can span across multiple countries and contexts.
• Regional Leaders: to get a fresh view on what God is up across the continent and help join dots across countries of like-minded leaders.
