The EEA’s office in the heart of EU decision making has a unique mission: to represent 20 million Evangelicals to the European institutions. This function is openly recognised by the European Commission and our socio-political team is esteemed for its analytical skills and integrity. Our main aim is to influence EU policies by seeking to advance biblical beliefs and values and to be advocates for justice seen from a biblical standpoint.
The main tasks of the European Evangelical Alliance’s Brussels Representative include monitoring decision-making and political trends within the European Union, developing an evangelical Christian approach to a set of issues and being the voice of our constituency. The Brussels Representative also provides opportunities for individuals and organisations to be heard learn or collaborate on pan-European issues with relevance for the European Union. This work involves significant relationship-building with officials and representatives of various movements, religious or non-religious, in Brussels and beyond.
Our 20 year experience enables us to join and coordinate with a very large network of organisations and contacts based in Brussels, thus being more effective in our advocacy. For example, EEA was a founding member of the European Platform on Religious Intolerance and Discrimination (EPRID) in 2006. Moreover, our office in Brussels organises events and hearings, featuring officials, experts, key figures of the European Institutions as well as Christians with authority in their field.
