EPRID Webinar – European Union Day on Freedom of Religion or Belief: Celebrating and Looking to the Future of FoRB at the EU

On the Occasion of the European Union Day on Freedom of Religion or Belief the European Platform against Religious Intolerance and Discrimination (EPRID), which is partly co-ordinated by the EEA at the moment, hosts a webinar on the topic

 

European Union Day on Freedom of Religion or Belief: Celebrating and looking to the future of FoRB at the EU.

 

The webinar will take place on 24 June 2020, 14:00 Brussels time (13:00 UK time) and brings together members of civil society, academics, policymakers and FoRB experts. They will share their insights at a critical juncture in time where the EU Commission is setting out its new budget which will inform the EU’s capacity to advance FoRB alongside other equally important human rights.

 

Speakers include:

  • Ewelina U. Ochab, Human Rights Advocate, founder of the Coalition for Genocide Response, PhD Candidate in International Law and author of numerous books on human rights

  • Jos Douma, Special Envoy on Freedom of religion or belief, The Netherlands

  • Michael Suhr, Special Representative on Freedom of religion or belief, Denmark

  • Alessandro Pecorari, Europe Liaison Officer, CSW (Christian Solidarity Worldwide), and Member of the Board of Coordinators for EPRID

  • European External Action Service representative (tbc)
