Equipping Christians to Engage Society: New and Updated EEA Resources for Europe
The EEA’s socio-political team is pleased to announce the publication of several refreshed and newly available socio-political resources, now accessible through the newly redesigned and expanded EEA Socio-Political Resources platform. The updated resource hub has been created to make key evangelical reflections, position papers, and practical guidance more accessible to churches, leaders, public servants, and believers across Europe who seek to engage society faithfully, wisely, and constructively.
We particularly highlight the newly revised editions of the EEA Socio-Political Approach and the EEA Code of Conduct for Christian Engagement in the Public Arena, both of which have been comprehensively updated in design and presentation while retaining and strengthening their core content. Together, these foundational documents provide a biblical framework for Christian public engagement, affirming that evangelism and social responsibility belong together, encouraging believers to be agents of spiritual and social transformation, and calling for public witness marked by love, humility, truth, peace, courage, wisdom, and hope.
In addition, the EEA is delighted to make two important national evangelical resources available to a wider pan-European audience through new English-language editions. We warmly thank the French National Council of Evangelicals (CNEF) and the Italian Evangelical Alliance (AEI) for producing these valuable original resources in their respective languages. Together Engaged in Society, developed by CNEF, offers ten practical principles encouraging evangelical Christians to contribute positively to democratic life, the common good, human dignity, freedom of conscience, and respectful civic dialogue while remaining firmly rooted in Gospel witness. Meanwhile, Justice and Peace Kiss Each Other: 9 Points for Evangelical Discernment, produced by AEI, provides a timely biblical reflection on war, peace, justice, human dignity, religious freedom, nationalism, international law, and the responsibility of Christians to be peacemakers in a fractured world.
Both documents demonstrate how evangelical convictions can inform thoughtful, balanced, and Christ-centred engagement with some of Europe’s most pressing societal challenges. We invite churches, organisations, and individual believers across Europe to explore these resources and the newly redesigned socio-political section of the EEA website, where an expanding collection of materials is now available to equip faithful Christian engagement in public life.
