Tatiana Kopaleishvili

EEA Brussels Representative

Tatiana is EEA’s Brussels Representative. She brings both faith-based organizational and academic experience to this role. Previously, she served with IFES in Georgia for 14 years, first as a staff member and later as General Secretary.

As EEA’s Brussels Representative, her primary role is to give Evangelical Christians a voice in European politics by bringing a hope-filled Evangelical message into the public arena across the European continent. Together with the EEA’s socio-political representative, she also serves national alliances by keeping them informed about developments at the EU level. This work involves building relationships with MEPs and EU Commission staff, highlighting the positive contribution of Evangelicals to their societies, advocating for strong protection of Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) and Freedom of Expression, campaigning for the needs of national alliances, and collaborating with other like-minded organizations to create effective synergies.

Tatiana fosters collaboration between academic and religious spheres through her roles as a board member of Sola Forum in Georgia and the Fellowship of European Evangelical Theologians. She actively engages in professional networks and practical ministry, serving with the Georgian Evangelical Alliance and the Council of Religion under the Public Defender’s office in Georgia.

Academically, Tatiana holds a PhD in History and is Guest Assistant Professor at the Evangelische Theologische Faculteit (ETF) in Leuven, Belgium. At ETF Leuven, she coordinates the Institute for the Study of Freedom of Religion or Belief (ISFORB), which focuses on the intersection of religion, society, and human rights. She teaches courses, organizes academic conferences, and publishes articles on Religious Freedom.

Tatiana is married to Guram, a merchant sailor, and together they raise their two daughters, Lola and Nita.
