Abiding in Christ: Nina Jankucic’s Uplifting Insights for Faith-Filled Action in 2025
Nina Jankucic (Croatia) has been a member of the Board of the European Evangelical Alliance (EEA) since 2022 and has been appointed EEA Vice-President by the EEA Board in September 2025.

Which three words would your friends and colleagues choose to describe who Nina is?
Vivacious, warm, funny
What is a key lesson you have learned during your ministry so far that you want to share with co-workers in the Kingdom of God in Europe?
One key lesson I’ve learned in ministry is that God will place you exactly where He wants you to be — you don’t have to fight for your place. Many times, He’s led me into situations that required a lot of faith — times when I couldn’t see how things would come together, when there were no people at that time, no finances, and no clear plan. But through those seasons, I’ve learned that He was working on me — teaching me to depend fully on Him.
Faith doesn’t mean waiting until everything is ready before you move. Faith means taking the next step, believing that God will provide what’s needed along the way. It’s not about building my ministry; it’s about being part of His Kingdom and trusting that He is faithful to finish what He started.
Which person has influenced you most on your journey of faith and why?
I don’t have just one person who influenced me most on my journey of faith; it has been more about community. Being part of a local and global Christian community, and showing others who I really am—being honest and vulnerable—opened doors for people to speak into my life. In every person, I’ve recognized Jesus walking alongside me, guiding me to stay on the path in Him. But this always required me to take off the masks that the world or I think I need to wear, and to be honest with myself and with others.
In your opinion, why do we need a European Evangelical Alliance?
Everywhere in the Bible we see that God was putting structures in place. We are part of one body and not separated for ourselves. The European Evangelical Alliance provides this kind of structure that brings national leaders together through different gatherings, where they can strategize, identify strengths and challenges, and seek God’s direction together. It’s also a great opportunity to connect with various specialist ministries, to know that we can support one another and partner in God’s work. In addition, the EEA represents and advocates for us on different levels, which is of great value for the church today.
Which piece of advice would you have needed to hear as a teenage person, that would have saved you some trouble in life?
Have someone who is an older Christian that you feel safe with and can honestly share your life with. You don’t need to pretend that everything is perfect — be honest and vulnerable. It’s okay to be a bit of a mess sometimes; everyone feels like that. When we open up and bring things into the light, God always helps us to work through them. He never condemns us; He heals and restores.
Across the continent, there are many worrying trends and developments. Against all odds, what is your hope under pressure?
Today we are often overinformed and stressed by so many things happening across Europe. Yet, at the end of the day, there is often very little we can do to influence them. My hope under pressure is to continuously remind myself to abide in Christ and to be faithful with what He has placed in front of me today.
The Bible says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28), and also that “God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear” (1 Corinthians 10:13). Remembering that He is in perfect control gives me peace. When I hold on to His promises and trust that they are true for me today, I don’t feel overwhelmed. I only start to lose hope when I focus on the hard things and my own inability to change them—but when I look to Him, hope always returns.
If you had to choose one word to stand as your theme for 2025, what would it be?
My word for 2025 would be “abide.” It’s a reminder to calm down and remain in His presence. From there, everything I need flows—strength, wisdom, peace, and guidance.
