EEA would like to congratulate Dr. Bert de Ruiter for receiving a prize from the International Organization for African Media for his endeavours to promote peace and contributions to interfaith dialogue. Dr. Bert de Ruiter is the EEA consultant Christian-Muslim Relations. The prize was given on 7^th of March 2017, during an international conference in Brussels, entitled: “The future of Muslims in Europe: Between dialogue of religions and Islamophobia”. This high-level event was attended by many distinguished guests, including the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, H.E. Dr. Mohammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa; former Israeli minister and academic Professor Shimon Shetreet, and Afzal Khan, Member of European Parliament.
