Last week, from October 27 to 31, 2025, the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) hosted its 14th General Assembly in Seoul, South Korea, under the theme “The Gospel for Everyone by 2033.” This landmark event drew approximately 850 delegates from 124 nations, reflecting the global shift in evangelical Christianity toward the Global South and East, despite initial registrations exceeding 1,500 amid travel and visa challenges.
The European Evangelical Alliance (EEA) was proudly represented by our General Secretaries, Connie Main Duarte and Jan Wessels, alongside numerous leaders and delegates from across the EEA’s member alliances and affiliate organizations. Their active participation underscored Europe’s commitment to WEA’s mission, contributing to key discussions on unity, mission, and the Gospel for Everyone 2033 initiative.
The assembly culminated in the installation of Rev. Adv. Botrus Mansour as the new WEA Secretary General and the election of Godfrey Yogaraja as International Council Chair, marking a pivotal moment for global evangelical collaboration.
To capture the spirit of this gathering, the EEA has shared a heartfelt video clip featuring greetings from Connie Main Duarte and the newly installed WEA Secretary General, Rev. Adv. Botrus Mansour, recorded on-site in Seoul. The clip highlights the bonds of fellowship and shared vision binding our regional alliance and the global level.
