EEA is writing to the Finnish government to express concern about the case of Päivi Räsänen, a former government minister accused of hate speech for quoting the Bible.

Here is the statement we are sending to the Finnish government.

We urge Evangelicals to pray for Mrs Räsänen and her lawyers, the Prosecutor General and the Finnish government. Let’s also pray that public debate about this trial focuses on the core issues of freedom of belief and expression for all people. This includes being able to share beliefs that others do not like.
