Strengthening Unity in the Caucasus: Evangelical Alliance of Georgia Joins the EEA
The Evangelical Alliance of Georgia was officially established in 2019, following several years of groundwork during which evangelical church leaders met quarterly to draft a common charter and doctrinal foundations. These early meetings served as a forum for dialogue and discernment, focusing on identifying and affirming the shared theological, moral, and ethical foundations uniting evangelical churches across Georgia.
The Alliance’s primary mission is to promote and strengthen Christian values within society, foster unity among evangelical congregations, and serve as a collaborative platform for addressing significant social and spiritual issues within the country.
The Evangelical Alliance of Georgia currently brings together eight member churches united by a shared commitment to faith, cooperation, and service. These member churches include:
  • Evangelical Faith Church of Georgia
  • Evangelical Protestant Church of Georgia
  • Word of Life Church of Georgia
  • Holy Trinity Protestant Church-Batumi
  • Association of Evangelical Christian Churches of Georgia
  • Tbilisi International Baptist Church
  • Baptist Church of Georgia
  • The Salvation Army – Georgia
The Alliance serves as a vital platform for collaboration among Georgia’s evangelical communities, fostering dialogue, unity, and advocacy. Quarterly meetings are held to plan joint initiatives, discuss important religious, social, political, and human rights issues. When appropriate, the Alliance issues public statements reflecting its shared values and perspectives on matters affecting both the Church and wider society.
At the same time, we must acknowledge that the Alliance does not yet have a strong public voice within Georgia. Strengthening this voice is one of our key goals—and our partnership with the European Evangelical Alliance plays an essential role in this process.
The EEA’s Socio-Political Team provides invaluable support to National Evangelical Alliances like ours, and we are confident that our cooperation will help the Evangelical Alliance of Georgia grow in socio-political awareness and engagement. Through this partnership, we will gain the tools, knowledge, and confidence needed to make the Evangelical Alliance of Georgia a more active and influential voice for evangelical believers in our nation.
