The [Im]Possible Dream – New Workbook by the EA UK
New workbook published to assist in integrating different ethnic groups
The [Im]Possible Dream is a new workbook published by the Evangelical Alliance of the UK that addresses the issue of ethnic integration. It was written by Steve Clifford and Rev. Canon Yemi Adedeji in collaboration with the One People Commission, whose goal is to create unity while maintaining diversity.
The book is designed for leaders and leadership teams to help better integrate different ethnic groups into churches, communities and organisations. Each chapter includes questions to consider as individuals, churches and ministries to challenge the way we think and act while putting the topic of ethnic integration on the agenda.
The aim is to provide resources for churches to demonstrate to the world how the impossible dream of ethnic integration can become a possible dream. This happens when Christians learn to love one another as Jesus says in John 13:35: “By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love and selfless care for one another.”
Author Yemi says: “Embracing diversity is like inviting people to the party; inclusion is inviting them to dance, but integration means we host the party together.”
