    The Slovak Evangelical Alliance was founded after the “Velvet Revolution” in November 1989, when citizens in the then communist Czechoslovakia decided to go further on the path of Western-style democracy. In 1990, the Anglican evangelical theologian Dr. John Stott visited Czechoslovakia and encouraged representatives of Protestant churches to establish the Evangelical Alliance.

Seeking empowerment by the Holy Spirit, it extends the Kingdom of God by proclamation
of the Gospel to all nations and by Christ-centred transformation within society.
