    It is often in retrospect that we see the hand of the Lord guiding and shaping us. At any given moment, we simply do what is in front of us, only to recognize later how different chapters in life fit together and prepare us for what is ahead. The diverse chapters in my journey as a Christ-follower are like that in leading me to join the World Evangelical Alliance staff as Deputy Secretary-General for Ministries on the 1st March. Had it been suggested to me a few years before, I would have laughed out loud.

For the past two decades, the average age of our congregation has remained the same, 22 years old with over 80% of members serving at church.     After learning about several cases of deportation of Christian asylum seekers to countries with a high persecution index, the Evangelical Alliance in Finland decided to make an appeal to the Finnish Immigration Office on behalf of Christian asylum seekers in Finland. In its appeal, the Evangelical Alliance accuses the Finnish authorities of not always respecting the principle of legal certainty in asylum procedures and lists shortcomings in asylum procedures.
